12:26 am - if it weren't for mikki the bear...
apparently i've proved my sisters' suspicions of being the "worst driver in the world." i'm home for no less than 6 hours and i already managed to fuck up the car.
i need help.
grizzly man at the enzian lead to grizzly noise in the parking lot. arg like a pirate. i can't even explain how badly i feel. nope.
and to think that one thing i sincerely missed was driving lots. i've forbidden myself from ever stepping behind the wheel of another automobile...for the time being.

philadelphia happily welcomes you in the fall. it requires no driving and there are plenty of people to keep you warm. the leaves are beginning to shift. perfect for ghettoblasting and playing hide and go seek in the quad.
badassness:
my favorite ice cream here's called crazy vanilla that has three neon shades intertwined.
dungen played in a church.
david lynch spoke in the archeology museum.
the discovery of ourtunes.
the fort-in-the-making in my dorm.
finding the cupcake store downtown.
segway tours of philadelphia.
low fives and secret messages.
riley the golden retriever who wears a red bandana.
my astronomy teacher is an experimental astrophysicist who builds telescopes in the mountains of chile. to be correct, he builds "overwhelmingly large telescopes." a true blue inspiration!
if this isn't badass, then i don't know what is: http://marsrovers.jpl.nasa.gov/gallery/video/movies/mer_ch_edl_TerrorComb.mov
the liberty bell for crying out loud.
being down with the secret society scene. bam!
the whole thing.

these next weekends are going to be oh-so-swell. and then nyc for animal collective! perhaps a little boston or north new york action that weekend too. woo whoo!

hollertronix. hollar.

orlando vintage and universal recently gave me some time off, so i fled the continent. to africa. to morocco, where i ran into some mischievous monkeys, mystical snake charmers, and bucking camels.

andre fucking 3000.

yes. the mr. andre 3000 rode spiderman today and thanked me kindly. ay yi sigh. ay yi andre.

whilst unloading a car after a slight delay on the ride, i asked the guests in the RV if they saw the entire show. they said no, so i asked them to hold on to their glasses and to follow me down the hall so they could ride again ahead of the line. before i knew it a very attractive man peaked up from his blue and white baseball hat, looked me in the eye, and said in his ultra-smooth, seductive voice:

all right, thank you, sweetheart.

gahhhhhhh. and he gave high fives to all of the kids in line, who were equally hysterical. universal's celebrity policy does not allow us to even react to famous lads; however, that did not stop me from beaming from ear to ear all flipping day long in a giddy daze. it made the ten hours travel lightspeed.

i am in love and i don't care who knows it!

for some inexplicable reason, my usual deafness has floated away and now it seems that my hearing is strangely heightened. haha. the beauty of noise! the harsh crinkle of paper, the dramatic click of the turn signal, and the subtle sound of the keys when typing. earlier i hardly heard these sounds, but things have apparently changed! i feel like i have been missing out!

does anyone want to use three hours of their time to watch the aviator with me? still haven't seen it yet and i've heard good things. also, sin city and robot are at the dollar theater, so that'd be cool to see those too. and bottle rocket is playing at the enzian june 28th! holy bananas.

tonight i dance.
the sky last night was indescribable. kind of a jungle green with navy blue zebra streaks. just plain gorgeous.
sigur ros comes to philly in early september. i am in the process of creating a band of mad dancing upenn groupies. rock it and bop it.

things to do...
1. go puddle jumping again
2. go swimming in the rain as long as it is not lightning and thundering
3. start up art again
4. go to the trapeze school in kissimmee
5. go on a road trip somewhere, anywhere
6. finish my two books and start more
7. get pancakes again at the place in de leon springs! plus casendega
8. spend an afternoon in the park reading, picnicing and boomboxing

soooo, summer boredom has finally set in. been there done that. because of this listless fever, lyndsey, michelle, alexis, and i decided to get creative last night. looking around my house for entertainment, we stumbled upon an intense pack of garbage bags. michelle and i immediately went to work creating an m.c. hammer/ missy elliot fusion garment for lyndsey. before we knew it, each of us started making an outfit of our own.
as always trying to embarass our friends, we invited a few zak, andy, jon, lyle, and johnny to "meet us at starbucks". little did they realize we were packing an electric feverdance in garbage bag couture. i think we successfully embarassed them.

don't click if you are opposed to highend plastic eveningwear and/or fantastic leg kicks. )

9:58 am - broke my heart. yes.
So here's the dealio. I was going to post a mega-mad graduation weekend blitz, but I got an incredibly distracting phone call and completely forgot about it until just now.
Let me just say that when we suggest an ELectRIC FeverDANCE, we bring it. That includes but is not limited to Four Square, Karoke-ing it up (Papa J from "Sail Away" of course), dancing on my rails, and a whole lotta cupcakes. I hope everyone had as grand a time as i did.

But Lex, Lynds and I had to find a new home for all the balloons from the "Balloon Pit." So we tossed them into my room creating a mega balloon pit.

Someone needs to come over and play with me in it. It is ridiculously tempting.
Oh yeah! I got a facebook too.

Right. Not okay.

12:07 am - new jobs, sobs, and mobs.
so i got a job. a few days a week you will find me rocking out at orlando vintage. the owner is paying me in the form of store credit. oh snappers! my mom is not too happy about that, but what are you going to do.

so i need to find another job in addition to this one. a real job that pays real money haha. i'm on the lookout.

i am certainly more excited about the ib toast than graduation. expect mrs. bell to rap. i said it. let's just say it involves her stating my favorite quote and a whole lot of galanging goodness. she promised me haha.

people talk. lots i hear. i do not like it because they aren't aware or am i just naive. bah.
i want to go to college.
naima is my girl.
yes. pictures are in my top five favorite things of all time and i do not nearly have enough.

i want friends and lovers who want me. that's all.

i can't wait to see stephen malkmus. he makes me giddy.
the basquiat exibit leaves brooklyn the day before i come, so that is frustrating. but there is always the costume institue at the met. slam dunk!

this summer i want to see lots of 1960s french movies, explore florida to its utter limits, take more photographs, get butterflies in my stomach, pick strawberries and flowers, fly kites, and be giddy.
i am optimistic about it all.

4:01 pm - what is success? the first penguins were located approximately 33,764 miles...
the glorious mrs. gwinn commented today that i was a free verse poem.
so silly. i like that analogy.

in other news i got my "mega-ice tassel" in the mail. you might need to wear sunglasses to graduation because this is bling bigger than dolly parton's stampede. in the theoretical sense.

technicolor dreamboats, black stallions, a diamond phoenix, and electric feverdances. Oh, my!

1:24 pm - before tobias, mr. cross once said: mix'em around. you get nebali...a galaxy way, way far away.
THIS IS TRAGIC:
Taken from imdb.com...

Guest Dumps Mockumentaries
This Is Spinal Tap icon Christopher Guest has disappointed fans by refusing to make any more "mockumentary" movies - because he no longer finds them funny. The actor/director realized he'd made too many comic documentaries when he helped compile Best In Show, the Museum of Modern Art's retrospective of his movies in New York. Guest explains, "I had always intended to do just three movies in that format, and then do something else. I don't think I'll go back to the documentary-style genre. Eugene Levy (his friend and collaborator) and I talked about different possibilities. One was a Western. I'm not trying to make blockbuster movies. I don't know how to. I'm just trying to make movies that are funny for me."

where will i get my elusive dance moves from?
where will i get some rad one liners that only make sense to the inner circle of christopher guest fans?
where will i see any other man wearing backwards pants and a bad toupee flopping around like an injured penguin?
oh, the questions are boundless and they all reach the same numb conclusion. no answer.
so, i guess i will have to rewatch darren's dance moves for some stylin foot kicks and train-like box steps, to try and come up with some of my own one liners (eh, bad idea), and fall out of my chair again like an uncoordinated flamingo to give everyone another laugh. or i could just walk down the hallway with my roller. that seems to make people laugh too.

when will i see him again? what if he never comes back? i would be heartbroken.

let's see...
for some reason i always want to say, "damnnnn, foxy brown." as a synonym for dang or dangarang or so solid. is that even a real expression?
mikki keeps the car a mess and likes to watch a show called 'mr. romance' where sophisticated and experienced judges look for the next fabio (that means hair blowing in the wind contests...it must fall right after all).
kali is having a killer '90s party when i visit her next weekend. that means all monica lewinskys, scary spices, and kate mosses and are go. it's going to be cah-razy rad.
i can't decide if i would rather see 'fearless freaks' or 'after innocense' at the film festival. the shows overlap causing me great silly distress. all in all i want to try and catch lots and lots. so solid/damnnnn, foxy brown!
in case you did not know, i found a job. and then i quit after two days. haha. basically at this ice cream parlor, the boss paid me to look busy, whether that meant cleaning the same tables 8 times, cleaning the mold out of a neglected refrigerator, or sweeping the consistent 2x2 floor of any possible contamination all while only 2 customers showed up per hour. the boredom was utterly lethal. plus he said that i couldn't wear my hair in the messy bangs-pony combo that i do. psh. haha.
some of my favorite words in combined sound and definition are scooter/scoots, electric, palpable, quixotic, and scintillating. There are more, but these made the top five for now.
i made the swift and outrageous decision to take at least one roll of film a week from now on.
i am out of control. someone let me loose and i like it. haha.

4:58 pm - roller revolution!: part ii
Gandhi once said,"In history, light and truth always wins." Inspired by this concept, I hope to change the world's view and enlighten them with truth, most certainly not in as significant or necessary way as mr. gandhi "g" did, this is about 1/billion of what he did, BUT nevertheless the world must face and conquer their preconceived beliefs on a small practical, pain-relieving, work of art machine...the aforementioned ROLLER.

so of course after earlier preaching the sermon of the device, i made the switch. although i received a few snickers, a few people trying to pull it away, a few awes, and many stares and dragged many a rock and cement block around, i have decided to stay in this new relationship.

i am just a girl with a dream. and that dream calls for a revolution. a roller revolution.
observe how practical they are...!

you can carry the machinery as a backpack just as easily as you roll it around. also note that the lifted handle can serve as a flag to your friends if you want to get their attention. or severely embarrass them. or salute your fellow rollers. good news. as seen in the photo, it fits under doors as well, so no ducking is necessary. yesssss!
the options are boundless.
careful! now your standard pack for the back can shove you around, as you see the force of lynds' backpack compelled her to the ground. however, no pack will shove you around again, if you switch to the roller! rather you push it around. literally! compared to lynds, my roller kept me hopping and bopping about all the way home.

i think i even grew an inch or two after not toting around my backpack.

also today, while watching apocalypse now in class, i knew that this scene with a surprise leaping tiger from the jungle was about to come up, so i whispered to emily, "beware! this is scary." so i sat nervously waiting legs crossed with my shoe slightly hanging off my foot. even knowing that the tiger would leap out of the dark, i shrieked in the silent room and kicked my leg out in an awful fright. but as i kicked, my shoe floated off my foot into the air, spun around a few times, nearly hit the ceiling, and landed back into my hands. haha. it was quite embarrassing if you ask me.

even more embarrassing than carrying a normal backpack. oh snap, snap, snap.

need to drive with my windows down like heaven and play the new candyland plus hopscotch and eat mint chocolate chip ice cream and go to a strolling in a park and bring lots of blankets. yes!

Kali is interning at Marc Jacobs now. gasp. sigh. yelp. jazz hands and hipshake.

She is slowly ripping off my dreams and aspirations and hopes and loves with her skinny artist fingers. haha
but is still adore, love love love her.

as some of you know, i am in a gang. however, this gang is like no other. we do not wear dress size pink shirts and call ourselves the "pink ponies" (i have only heard rumors about that squad) or flash each other various signs in the hallways, but we call ourselves
"troop: front row".
our mission is to get to select shows, specifically those at the larger orlando venues, at least 5 hours early, so we have a guaranteed front row center viewing section. over the last years, we have conquered this prize section many a show with the help of uno playing, dvd watching, and cookie snacking. and it has been glorious!
so, in recognition of the wilco show yesterday, michelle, mikki, and i dropped everything and sprinted over to pleasure island just in time for our 5 hour wait. haha.

one, two, three…troop:front row! )

10:08 pm - Rats!
If you just heard a shriek in your neighborhood, I am sorry. It is my fault entirely.
I regret to tell you that in the past five minutes a dear friend was lost. Yes, a Mr. Austin Scarlett was booted from Project Runway after Wendy murdered him. She is a cunning fox with no talent. Whoa, I am getting ahead of myself. Suppose this is how I deal with such profound depths of grief. It is a sad day for us all.
With him we will bury his lipgloss,
pearl necklaces,
and curlers...
the items he cherished most.
However, in next week's episode it appears that he strikes again! This time in a pirate hat and dramatic cape. Phew.

Double Dang.

So, today was the absolute pits basically.
history triple quiz (harsh)...
english passage (cuts me deep)...
calculus quiz (jerkface!)...
biology test (rats and rats again!)...
So, realizing that we would have no homework after such a draining day, we decided to rebel. Yes, I said it. We rebelled hardcore. Anything anti-school was go.
And you know what we did? We certainly bought some major balloons and we certainly baked a cake and we certainly danced to J.C. Chasez, because you know that is what the true rebels do. They do not steal pets, but they have balloon fights, bake goods, and spontaneous dance parties to forgotten boy band members.
And on that cake we wrote "2 kewl 4 skewl" because that is the kind of mood we were in. The phrase just seemed to perfectly capture our nobody-gets-in-our-way attitude. You know, it was an all things anti-school afternoon.

Oh, no you didn't! )
